Personal Background and Interests


Orange County is home for me and many generations of my family. I was introduced to the critical importance of public education early in life and have maintained my commitment ever since. My grandmother taught at West Hillsborough School for over twenty years. My mother taught Orange County students for thirty-four years at Murphy School, Cameron Park, and Central Elementary. Public education hasn’t just been my career; it’s been a life-long calling to serve the community that I love.


Among other community organizations that I’ve served and supported:

  • Member, Hillsborough Kiwanis Club

  • Member, Little River Presbyterian Church

  • Member, Schley Grange 

  • Founded and Chaired, Committee for the 2024 Celebration Event for the 1969 OHS Basketball State AAA Championship Team

Professional Experience as an Educator and School Administrator


I have held every position that serves our students, from teacher assistant to principal. I have been a classroom teacher, an assistant principal, the Director of Student Services, and I spent 10 years as the principal of C.W. Stanford Middle School (now Orange Middle School). I have also served as interim principal at Orange High School (pre-2018 and 2019-2020). I know our schools inside and out, from the classroom to the central office.
